Their Stares

Their Stares

A Poem by Mary Sessions
"

I was feelin kinda depressed when i wrote this.

"

I wish they could see

That I am the same

As them

Mind, body, and spirit

But their stares

could turn fire

Ice cold

I wish that they could see

That, given the chance, i could be

Normal

Just as they are

But their stares

Hurt more than

A lost friend

And I wish they could see

How their stares

Get more painful

As each day passes

The eyes hold so much power. The power to hurt and heal eh? I was hesitant at first, but now I like the poem style. It's sort of... clear cut and realistic, presenting it as it is in few, powerful, sincere words. Great job :)

Wow. That really described how it feels to be an outsider. Good!
