Dear Father

Dear Father

A Poem by Billy Sullivant

Dear father, I was inside.
I can't survive here anymore.
Will your dreams with you,
then live a life like before?

Don't release yourself to me.
But find your answer to live,
since I've never felt a birth
of a candlelit, shaded life.

I'm a ghost that'll wait for you.
A summer to come for us, might show.
No promise of this, I will make.
So dark... It surrounds me.

Father? What is this place?
I know that I'm drifting into safety
in someones arms, never to be yours.
I knew she'd separate you and me.
