Wonder

Wonder

A Poem by Billy Sullivant

Alone, I lie on this bed.
With a death wish drifting through my head.
I wonder to myself; If you would care
if this was the last day for me.

My blood rushes cold when I hear your voice.
My heart aches when I make the wrong choice.
Baby, we wonder why it has to be
this way for us to split apart.

And I wonder if you can read that note,
I left for you on the table.
Baby, I wonder if you will accept
my deepest and very last apology.

Away from the afterlife and inside the grave.
I wonder how you still feel my heart
beating for you. Oh, for you.
I wonder how our love survived.
