Voyages

Voyages

A Poem by Abhra

Let some words be about voyages and homecomings
And not about things breaking.
Let some words be like the Rhone,
and let the night bend through it to dawn..

Let some words be about afternoons
And the woman incarnate
About the destitute carnal truths in your bosom.
Your eyes and your mouth.
The simplicity of blue midnights around rolling hills.

Let some words be about colors
and Van Gogh's starry nights. About
summers that lie between you and me,
languid and naked.

Let some words be about noises
that somehow become a language, of embraces and
speak of nights and days in which my hands find yours
and your mouth finds mine.

Let some words be about winter.
About labyrinth and mazes, about the fair wind that travels
through your nostrils to my lungs. Let some words be about
dews and the murmur of our skins, their bread, fire and salt.

Let some words be about evening skies and poems.
About nothingness and silence.
But above all
let some words be about you and me.
