ParaphrasingA Poem by AbhraPerhaps in closing perhaps in whispers I write to you again. In my halted speech words spill over slowly… A thought hues my absent gaze I keep the break of dawn in the folds of re-read pages about the wind soft and the grass green, I know them from somewhere before. From another fall…when I had them as witnesses to our native hearts.
Shadows and light playing hide and seek in our words. And like this Night came. Everyday as the closest sea. Intimate. Paraphrased. I recall nights like these In its quietude.. And I kept count of heartbeats.
I know that roots end somewhere, things draw to a close and as such I have come to talk, uncertainly, about breaths that diffuse. I know we have lost much But I wonder if there's day in which you recall that subway ride, fondly. © 2013 AbhraReviews
