Let us agree that this may not
be a beginning or an end
and even if it were
we would not know to what.

Let us agree that it only marks a time,
when my blood learned to bleed black
and ache,
when promises
or anything remotely similar,
over crescent moons, are no longer needed
to win our freedom.

Let us accord that days or nights,
regardless however distended or sudden,
are just days or nights
and always turn out the same
no matter how you go through them.

Let us agree that distance often goes by,
in some unspoken places,
by an unfriendly synonym "far",
And sometimes no matter what
no end of journeys ever adds up.

Let us agree that it is possible,
by some stroke of night,
to wrap time up in voices and pickle,
and then look at the yellow strands
with each passing day and forget.

Let us agree
that poems often lose ground
like lost lovers.
like all the old oars apart of seas,
that pain someday will lose company
But for all the sad things that we agree on
Let us disagree
That it is thus far and no farther.

You have a strong narrative in your work. Profound, and thoughtful. And that last stanza was haunting, and beautiful.

Many many great lines in this, most a woman's nightmare, it sounds like a prenuptial
to ? regardless, it is intelligently written and expressed so very well.
