It's not enoughA Poem by Elijah Michael MaddenDon't just be your self because it's the best for you, be your self because it's the best you can be for others. The house in which you live, The food that keeps you alive, The air that is your breath of life, All of it only leads to strife And it'll never be enough. Never enough to be compared to simply loving life. "We were one, We are all. Love your self and just fall" Fall... Fall... Fall... False words They're never enough And they never were. Setting another before you is the most sublime act; Here it will be shewn to be fact. This life is not what we seek It's not why we read, speak, or write, nor why we laugh, scream, nor cry. You're just trading hours of life for handfuls of dimes. And it'll never be enough. Never enough to simply live a life of your self True, your self is all that you can be, And only from there can you truly see That if there is meaning, a reason to be, It's to be free. But we're flying too high. You'd rather die while I'd rather fly. Live for each other, there's enough to last a lifetime, And remember, we'll never relive this moment no matter how hard we try.
