Hopeless

Hopeless

A Poem by Illegitimate Artist
"

Some else's downward spiral.

"
Hope.
Just another four letter word.
Another lie from the mouths of hypocrites.
Lip service to ears of indifference.

You’re racing now.

Full speed into the dark unknown.
Caution,
Tossed to the side along with all the four letter words.
Unbreakable girl,
Taking in the poisons.
Every breath is the last.

You’re spinning now.

Out of control.
The world is a blur of repetitious pain.
Self destructing in the arms of rage.
Like a firecracker,
Drown by the shadows of an apathetic society,
Time to explode.

You’re crashing now.

Life,
A twisted heap of scrap metal and shrill screams.
The bars slam shut,
No four letter words to save you now.
You’ve hit rock bottom,
Shattering you’re core in the fall.

You’re burning now.

They can’t see how hollow you are,
On the inside.
Writhing,
In the fires of your minds damnation.
Finished with waiting,
For someone to save you.

Hopeless.
The only word that makes sense anymore.
In a world of blind intolerance,
There is no room for four letter words.

Wow.
This is just WOW.

Strong words here.
My favorite definition of hope -> Unwarranted optimism.

I absolutely loved the first and last stanza's.
And also everything else in between.
I have taken the journey from hope to hopelessness. So I know the feeling

I liked this one so much, I can't find proper words to put down here.

it is the zipsqueal tragic tale of a life caught up in the quick flash of two many images burnt into our eyes. Is it wrong that we can picture all the actions, all the backstory, that took place as these events unfolded? Has society become so callous in its accepting of it having become so callous? You can picture that moment, as life goes from pedestrian, to a burning hollow of a wreck, caught in the travesty of that moment.

The voice of this write is poignant; the progression is flawless; the message undeniable & the use of what spoke to me as being the voice of (conscious) in the lines between each stanza was genius!

Excellent piece packed with stirring imagery...
