Ode To My Pencil

Ode To My Pencil

A Poem by Illegitimate Artist
"

Just something silly.

"

I look down to see you’re blue,
So shiny and metallic too.
Like a scenic ocean view,
Never has there been a pencil like you.

Crystal clear and full of lead,
You can take down all that is said.
Or words straight from my head,
Words that could fill you with dread.

The things we could write together,
Better than the quilly feather.
To jot down ideas where ever,
My best friend now and forever.

I found this the other day on my laptop. Its really old but it still makes me giggle when I read it. Just something silly I wrote after a psych test.

I love my pencil too... well, pen. I used to use the pencil but I switched.

I have a lot of old poems that I love very much but they were written when I was just a lil teenie bopper and I am afraid of sharing them cause I don't want people to laugh at me. This was beautiful and I think it inspired me to go ahead and try to find some of my old work and thow it up here. Thank you.

It is something silly, but that is something special when we stumble upon so much that is here that is ever so somber and ever so bleak. After reading about this darkness, this tragedy, and oh so much melancholia; it was a refreshing respite to read this piece. Thank you, I needed that giggle.

That was really cute and made me smile. Being a poet I can truly relate to that.

I truly enjoyed the lightheartedness of this piece; it drew a smile across my face. While it is lighthearted, the message is spot on!

~nicely penned, er, penciled!~

You know, I have never read that sort of appreciation for a simple utensil that so neeeded for what we all enjoy so much.

You gave me a new perspective on things and entertained me all at the same time

Good Job

Ha! That sounds like something that was written when you picked up a pencil and wondered "hmm...what should I write."
