Contemplating Death

Contemplating Death

A Poem by Ilina
"

it's not something to fear

"
Death is an ongoing thing.
Omnipresent, you could say.
In the constant search for answers,
we have raised so many questions.
You try to look beyond those snow peaked mountains
and wonder what lies ahead.
You look high above at the clear blue sky
and imagine what life will be like in another world.
A new realm,
a different dimension,
a new perspective maybe.
But death is an ongoing thing-
a flower wilts, another blooms.
One's 21 and another is 102!
The cycle continues.
You don't need to worry, you know.
Death is just the final piece
to complete the jigsaw puzzle of life,
the last milestone to be passed.

It's not that simple, you might say.
Well, let's just let it be that way.
