The Great Writer.

The Great Writer.

A Poem by Ilerah

The boy stood on the edge,
he thought of his father,
his wise sayings,
his wise thoughts.
This boy, who became a man,
thought, and wrote.
This boy became,
a great writer.

I feel like this poem really wants to go somewhere! My first thought is that there are some unnecessary commas in it, which make it a little awkward to read. My second recommendation would be to play around with line lengths and line endings. A line and a phrase don't have to end concurrently. Try breaking phrases across lines to increase tension and a sense of forward momentum.
