Changing Times- Part 2

Changing Times- Part 2

A Story by Ilerah
"

Arith finds himself outside of the forest. He decides, unwisely to enter it again.

"
He woke, sat up, and then started wondering. Arith, who was unconscious within the Untouched Forest, farther than anyone, was now sitting on the grass outside it, and it was still light out, not even noon. He had no idea what had happened, maybe it was the Guardian, the mystical guarder of the Untouched Forest. The old man had said that he did not like trespassers.
Arith looked at the forest, standing up. He had to enter it again, he had a nagging urge to go in, like nothing he had felt before. He stood up and started to walk into the forest, taking a different route than before. He felt stupid, a complete moron, but non the less, he had to go into this blasted forest.
Arith quickly left the path, thinking that is how the Guardian had tracked him. However he made almost no ground, possibly not even a kilometer within the forest because he was so nervous, constantly looking over his shoulder.
After just two hours walking in the forest, Arith stopped, he had heard something. This was not good, hearing something was never good, except for the usual reasons. Arith knelt before the tree in front of him, hoping it was just a bird, or even a deer. He continued hoping until a man stepped out of the bush.
This man wore simple armor, not big and bulky, carrying an axe, and a long sword on his back. Arith knew he was dead, this strange feeling overcame him. Not fear, he had nothing to fear except death, which was certain, he didn't know what it was.
The man came over to him, picked him up, and threw him into another tree, "Why are you in this forest, I already threw you out once today, don't make me do it again."
Arith stood up, grabbing his side, which must of had a broken rib, because it hurt so much. He cringed as he stood up, "I do not want to harm the forest, or the Great Tree, I just wanted to see this place, since the old... since Drelag told me about it.
The man stopped walking over to Arith, "Drelag, you know Drelag?!"
"Yes, he is my mentor. In weaponry, geography, everything," once again cringing as he drew breath.
The man walked over to Arith, "Sorry for throwing you, but you should leave. I have not killed you because I know Drelag, he was the Guardian before me.
"Wait what?"
"Leave, don't make me tell you again."
The Guardian left quickly before Arith could ask him another question. He then started to slowly walk back, in order to leave the forest. Even though he did not want to. As he walked, his rib continued to antagonize him, but he continued. After all, the Guardian had made it perfectly clear to leave the forest.

well maybe you could drop the "up" in "woke up", making it just " he woke, sat up...". maybe its just me but that sounds a little better. also if he broke his rib he would have been in more pain i think, but i cant speak from experience. anyways, i really liked this part and it totally changed my perception of the guardian. great write, and im glad i read it :)
