This New Chance

This new year, with promises of happiness and hope,
All bring a false sense of security,
Drifting through my thoughts, wondering what went wrong,
How things ended up this way.

How was I so blind,
That i was unable to see the light, in the middle of this night,
Hidden among those stars,
Like diamonds in the ground, waiting to be found.

If only it had shown it self, even a little earlier,
Maybe then everything would be different,
And maybe i would die, seeing that it would make no difference,
