Never

A little reflective poem I did a while ago, just to get some of the emotion out. I'm better now.

You held my hand, once.
At least-
I think you did.
I can never quite remember
whether I was dreaming
or not.
Sometimes
I like to think you're staring
at the same stars
as I am
Missing
a moon that's never been
there to miss-
except to us.
My heart skips a beat
when I think
that maybe,
just maybe-
And then I remember
that you don't
know my name.
Or who I am.
Or that I'm here.
You never really
knew-
My
little
curse,
a grain of sand,
seething,
burning,
melting-
I miss you.
