A Poem by Ophelia Dragonheart
"

Similar to the last poem submitted, only older, and it *rhymes*! Also sadder, I think.

"

Please don't touch my heart again,
I just want to forget,
The way you held me close at night,
And everything you said.

Please don't cross my mind again,
Already I'm not sane,
Erasing you from memory
Will end this pouring rain.

Please don't sing our song again,
Not even just to me,
There's nothing left for you to do
But leave me here, empty.

Please don't hold my hand again,
No longer it consoles,
Here or not, there's no way you
Can seal these bitter holes.

Please don't speak those words again,
I swear my heart will break,
You can't be here, the question now
Is how long it will take.

Please don't say my name again,
Your voice is fading fast,
However long you stay with me,
I know it never lasts.

They're singing mourning songs again,
No, not for you, but me,
It sounds as though they've noticed now,
Just what I couldn't see.

Please don't touch my heart again,
Now that I know you're gone,
My mind is playing tricks again,
And leaves me all alone.

Please don't leave me here again,
I don't care what the cost,
I've been so scared of solitude
And gotten used to loss.

About
Why, hello there! My name's Ophelia (better known as Brittany, but who needs to know that? That'll be our little secret, okay?), and I'm an aspiring young writer with too many ideas and far too little.. more..
