You

You

A Poem by Ophelia Dragonheart
"

A poem from the point of view of a very sad character. Things get better for her later, but for now, this kind of summarizes how she's feeling (for a good hundred years, even).

"

I could tell them she took you from me,
forget to mention her name,
forget to mention
who she is,
slip slowly
into denial, buy my own excuses-
I don't think anyone would realize,
until they found me
slipping away,
the last of my short years spent.
They would be fooled,
wouldn't they? At least,
until they stumbled upon me
in my final moments,
whispering,
as I'm sure I will,
that I would be with you soon,
my sweet prince.
Then again, they might not even
realize, remember-
"Don't forget me
when I
disappear,
alright?"

i wonder, even if you had asked
how many
would have listened?

About
Why, hello there! My name's Ophelia (better known as Brittany, but who needs to know that? That'll be our little secret, okay?), and I'm an aspiring young writer with too many ideas and far too little.. more..
