CigaretteA Poem by IheartrdjTerribly Addictive
He was like the very cigarette he sat smoking; deliciously unhealthy and horribly addictive.
I watched as he savored every hit. I could taste the nicotine on his lips, as his eyes - icy blue - bore into mine. Intimidating, powerful eyes. But I couldn't look away. I longed for the late hours of the night when we would finally be alone. When I could feel his body pressed firmly against mine. Feel his heat in the cold night air. Our time together was short. Just long enough to get a taste of a familiarly forbidden fruit. Long enough to desire what I couldn't really have; but I played his games. Afraid to lose what wasn't even mine. Like the last cigarette in the last pack, I took just a small hit of poisonous medication. Not going all the way for fear of running out. © 2013 Iheartrdj |
