Take a bite, love is tarnished

I stand before you, my heart a bleeding apple in my hand.
Holding it out, it trembles with my emotions as i wish you
to take it with you.
it's always been yours to keep.
Besides, it really is no good without you around to hear its pulse,
and feel its beat.
it grows weaker with every passing moment as the drop of blood on the carpet
turns slowly to a pool of sorrow before our eyes.
Take a step closer and take a bite. engorge in the passion of my love and stay,
or take it with you and toss it away to the shadows,
