Unfortunately

Unfortunately

A Poem by Iggy

Babies more neglected

Their hearts thrown out

Extracted from the roots of their loins

Casted into the emptiness of a container that could hold coins

Darkness is manifested into dark dreams

of limp beings

Mortals remain unseen to us

muddled and mummified in the uterus

Doctors claim it’s saving us

but at the expense of the unborn fetus

The womb becomes his/her tomb

Or to some of us its, its tomb

The boy/girl called it wouldn't get it

because life left way too soon

Unfortunately

The quantum state of being

Is not being even if the hearts (thump thump, thump thump) beating…life

The quantum state of being

Is not being even if the hearts beating

But one bead of water found on mars

Contains more life then the one shredded into jars

Children die before they take their first breath

Our cultural question is... Can that be death

So let’s take it a step further

And ask ourselves if its murder

Involuntary suicide…

Because the condom was laced with spermicides

Nymphos will claim it’s saving us

Because ejaculation is a must

But at the expense of the unborn fetus

Fortunately

We the people, know that there are known knowns

We the people, know that there are unknown knowns

Unfortunately

The unknowns will never know the known known

The unknowns will never know the known known…life

Unfortunately

Precious are the dead cells

Worthless are the living cells

That’s what we tell ourselves

Just look at your finger nails

Unfortunately

There are way too many who won't be able to read this

Way too many who won’t be able to hear this

So I’m speaking to you, him, her and us…minus

All the people that could be

I constantly think of Sarah that should have been

Kara that could have been

Mike, Noah, Tito, and Jason

Unfortunately

Too many of us have no control

So we alter their goals

And delete them from the system

Control, Alt, Delete

Control, Alt, Delete

Repeat, repeat, repeat

Control, Alt, Delete

Backspace, Backspace, Delete, Backspace

Delete, Delete, Delete…Backspace

Too many of us try to claim this as myspace

When really it is our space

Because space is not a give n take

So because of our mistakes the unknowns we erase

Backspace, Backspace, Delete, Backspace

Delete, Delete, Backspace, Delete…

Delete, Delete, Delete…Delete

Your view of the unborn baby being aborted is a great topic many write about today. You express your views of the conflicts many face today.I believe that you imagery and the decriptions you placein the sentences are wondeful. You write what you think is important to you and thats what every writer needs to do.

This is a very powerful poem, well written, on a painful topic for most of the world and the people in it. I like the way you presented this topic in a very strong poem.

now this is one of the best poems that i have read on here so far. you spoke about things that really needed to be spoken about. yet hardly ever give recognition let alone seem to care about these things. you are an amazing writer and i would love to read more of your stuff whenever you post anymore up. you spoke truth, preached what needs to be heard and i REALLY loved that. this poem was just, amazing. beautiful.

i also noticed that you're new to the site so i wanted to be one of the first to give you a big welcome and hopefully you continue to post on the site and share your wonderfully written work. im sure you will love this site because it has tons of amazing writers on here such as yourself. anyway, like i said, welcome to the site. and be sure to let me know when you post up more work so i can be sure to read them as well.

take care and have a wonderful blessed week and weekend. much love and peace.

This is very good Iggy! ............Too many of us try to claim this as myspace, when really it is our space.....
The rhythm is good and it has changes that are easy to follow and compliment the text.
I enjoyed reading this! I think that poetry and music are the only broadcasts we can rely on any more for the information we need as Citizens of Planet Earth.
The fourth paragraph is my favorite.
Well done.
