Journal of the lost (epilogue)A Story by Iflybyyou
This is certainly strange indeed. I ended up in this random place with nothing but a journal and a pencil, so I figured I might as well write in it. I should probably tell you who I am and how I got here. My name is Maria Michaels, am 16 years old, and I am the daughter of a wealthy scientist. They are probably looking for me, and have already organized a search party, so I'm sure I'll be fine. I got here while working on this crazy experiment where I tried mixing two different chemicals that I snuck out of my father's lab, and all the sudden, a portal opened up and sucked me and a few other things in it and now I'm here. I am pretty smart for my age, or so I'd like to think, and even I can't figure this s**t out. It was like I was just having fun in the lab and then wham! I end up in freak town. I should probably tell you about my first moments here, as it seems I've been here since noon, so I feel funny trying to pass this off as Day 1 in my journal and I probably won't be here that long anyways, so what's the point in labeling my entries by day? But anyways, back to what happened in the first few hours of being here. I've mostly been walking through what appears to be a desert, and I was starting to get a little thirsty, but luckily I had water. Eventually though, I ended up coming across this weird village with all these people in shady looking costumes yelling out some insane blabbering during what appeared to be a religious ritual. I watched from a distance, and then it got weirder. They began smashing this orange fruit on their faces and howling like wolves. I nearly freaked out when one of the kids peeked behind the rock I was hiding behind, and I took off running. I think the village noticed me, because they started chasing me with spears. One of the spears were thrown and nicked me in the leg, almost knocking me over, but I pressed on. Eventually I tripped and fell while running, rolling my ankle a little bit, and at the time I couldn't run any more, and I thought I was going to die, because the group caught up to me, and raised their spear to kill me. At that point I was sobbing, I didn't want to die yet, but then all the sudden thunder sounded out, and sent the tribe bolting back to their village in visible fear. I remember thinking how weird it was that they were so scared of thunder and rain, but then the rain started burning my skin a little bit. I hobbled screaming to a nearby cave, and then while I was in the cave, had to fight off a couple tarantula looking creatures with a stick, but eventually I was finally able to sit back and relax. I made camp and a fire there, knowing that my family could easily track me down with their equipment. I really went through a lot today, and I am glad to finally rest my head for the night. I am so relieved that I will probably be spending only a few nights here at most, and that my parents could easily track me down.
