everything but human

everything but human

A Poem by Iflybyyou

I look outside
the rain is falling
I was enticed by it
as it was warmly calling

I let it bounce off my skin
my eyes scanned the skies
and after hours of watching
my mind then realized

that the rain was in a distance
it was all an illusion
the call of the rain
nothing more than confusion

I longed so bad
for the rain to be real
but it was just the mist
appealing to how I feel

For once in my life
I felt like I was living
my cold dead heart
songs of joy it was singing

I almost got to leave
the prison of my making
the ground was eating me up
I failed to see the Earth shaking

What did I do to deserve
this teasing I don't know
if there was a loving God
he probably hates me so

I feel like lots of things
from cold as ice to coarse as sand
but since the rain will never fall
I'll never feel like a human

About
after over a year of long and hard reflection, and a prompting from my best friend who recently joined, I am revisiting my writing once again. It's good to be back. I don't have any particular goals f.. more..
