The Tigress

The Tigress

A Poem by IfYouOnlyKnew
"

It should explain itself

"

The Tigress crouches patiently, quietly waiting for that day....when, LO! who should walk by, but her unwary prey!
With an evil glint in her eye she pounces...slashes..pins them beneath and all the poor traveler can think before death is "oh my! what sharp teeth"
Gnawing, gnashing..ripping apart, reveling in the last beat of the heart.....covered in blood from muzzle to paw, sated and purring in spite of it all. This is her nature, this is her right.....not one more thought will she give to this night.
Her kill will be found, accusations be made....while shouts of "JUSTICE"  are called out aloud......yet no one steps up, not one brave soul in the crowd.
Do not take her for granted, do not ignore this plea.....for the Tigress is hate, which WE.... have allowed to be free.

Wow.. such passion and I feel danger in this metaphor of writing of a tigress.. yes every woman has a tigress in them.. I do not believe that the word tigress means hate though.. just the survivor side of a female who likes to pounce and play.. however some tigress sides could be dangerous.. there are woman predators out there.. rare to hear of it in writing.. you have a strong message in your ending:

Do not take her for granted, do not ignore this plea.....for the Tigress is hate, which WE.... have allowed to be free.

This WE could represent a group of male friends or society letting some raging female go? Very interesting writing..intriguing.. with an evil glint in her eye? Wow would love to read more about this.. sounds like a pretty powerful female! Thank you for sharing.. somewhat dark piece but flowing with a sense of danger, rage and anger hidden in undertones.. great to get those feelings out!!!! =)
