Lerion Necarphidies

Lerion Necarphidies

A Poem by Idyllwyld
"

There are those of us who believe what we see to be real. And then there are those who see to make real what they believe.

"

You’ve played a good game, but the game still got you.

Its rules can’t be bent, and it cannot be won.

So we must discover how to play a new game.

Magic was not our revolution, merely facilitation.

Immortality is merely the freezing of time’s flow.

To be truly timeless is to be outside of time itself.

The perfected, for all their pursuit, are still afraid.

The flawed have yet to stumble upon its discovery.

I have waited eons, and I have seen enough.

My body will fail, and all vessels will finally unravel.

I will write my soul into the cosmos itself, and prove that it is possible.

I am a destiny.

Author's Note

Idyllwyld
I usually proofread my works, however as always I'm sure there are typos and syntax errors. I appreciate any and all notices of that, and will work to correct those. If I haven't do know that I did acknowledge your notice and try implementing it, but found that it detracted from the effect I wanted and so omitted it.

i like the concept a lot
i like the final line, and how it sums up the whole piece just right

if anything is wrong, it may be the use of the word "game" in the first stanza.
maybe rephrase so as not to use it thrice :P

nice to read you again
