Forever Frozen Memory

Forever Frozen Memory

A Poem by Rose F.
"

Best friends

"

Miniature ice butterflies,

Guided by yellow luminescent lights,

land softly in her hair.

Yes, this is one of those unforgettable nights.

Each parking deck level

Displays an array of neon blue beams.

She glides across the slick blacktop

Absorbing the winter scene.

The snowflakes dance

Adagio across her tongue.

Catching them carefully in her mouth

Slowly turning into water one by one.

The gray trees smile in their slumber

Sharing the perfect moment of two friends

The warm air swirls around us filling us with light

And in this glorious light we begin to swim

In this moment I realize

that lovers will break your heart

and rogues will enter your inner circle

But true friendship will never fall apart

Remember that night?

Remember the enchanting snow?

Remember the beautiful lights?

Never ever let that memory go

My friend and I were leaving the mall and it began to snow. :) It was so beautiful. I told her I HAD to write a poem about it.

I can feel myself there :) But I also like how it's not just about the beauty of the scene, but how the memory itself is just a facet of a friendship. Good job, friend :P

I adore this, especially this stanza:
"The snowflakes dance
Adagio across her tongue.
Catching them carefully in her mouth
Slowly turning into water one by one."

Beautiful words.
