Loving A GhostA Poem by Rose F.We all have online friends. But if they were seriously hurt or injured how would we know? Do we really know them at all?
When you look in the mirror
And hate what you see
When you’re crying a river
Because you can no longer bleed
When your heart starts to question
As you stare at the moon
When your eyes seem to open
And your rejection is entombed
Maybe you’ll remember
I was cold and afraid
Missing you daily
But your memory will not recall my name
Because one day my face will be gone
We will have lost touch over the years
And I will fail to remember
Why I shed all these tears
All it takes is a twist of fate
On either end
A injury so crucial
To take away my friend
Who will tell me
That you are dead?
Who will comfort me
As I cry from the dread?
So you see this
Is what hurts me the most
The thoughts of me one day
Unknowingly loving a ghost…
