The CityA Poem by Rose F.Dark winding streets
The world in my head is like a city
Running down streets in the dark
People stop and test me
If I fail the maze of roads continues to get hard
I cry out for help
No one answers my call
The city sleeps
And the buildings become tall
My knight is long gone
He left before the break of dawn
He figured out my game of chess
And that he was among the pawns
I suffer in my city
I feel the pain of a thousand tortured souls
I can still feel my heart beat
Even though worms crawl through the holes
I miss my family
I want to find my way home
I need a smiling face
But alone in the city I still roam
I lie down on a cold street
So tired I try to sleep
And in my slumber I shall stay
Until I die and hell I greet
