Palm Tree Sunsets On My Mind

Palm Tree Sunsets On My Mind

A Poem by Rose F.
"

Trying to get over someone.

"

Never mind the broken promises of yesterday
Look ahead to a palm tree sunset
The thrill of a future abandonment
The loss of an insane ambiance

Those little jests of valentine laced hearts
More hopes to make my troubled mind break father into the beyond
Falling to the deepest floor of a bottomless pit of lust
You said the distance makes the heart grow fond

Saying “I’m fine”, “It’s all good”, “I’m over it”,
Is a fancy way of saying I miss you more than ever
Millions of colors cross my mind in an attempt of a description
Too many syllables in my words, way too many letters

You’re acting like my polar opposite even though we meshed so well before
Permission to be me, please, sir?
“My dear, my dear.” My god that maddens me!
The truth is a rotten core

Chapter 23 of this book is depressing
I want to shut the pages for good
However if I ceased to let the curse of the ink spill
My existence would never be understood

Blue becomes my least favorite color
Dreams can only tell if I would be amazed
Hoping it rains and washes away the line
Though I have no precise time, I’m counting the days…

So much pain, your words came out loud and clear. Much emotions. You have all four, mind. heart, Soul and emotions. Thank you for sharing a great poem with us. Take care and God Bless.
