The Desert

The Desert

A Poem by Rose F.
"

My world

"

Here I am
Alone in this vast land
Its cold, it is dark
Far away from the presence of man

The world goes on around me
As I stay here inside my head
It is my escape,
without it I’d be dead

My world is twisted
The trees are bloody and dying
The cracked ground cries
And the wind is sighing

Time seems to stop
As I contemplate the truth
Every step I take
Gives me another clue

I walk alone
The miles that seem to go no where
And from ahead in the distance
I look into the sun and stare

For a glimmer of hope
A sign of another life
But I see nothing and I wander this desert
While reality passes me by

I put myself in your shoes, not in your head, I don't want to escape in your nightmare. I love it, so smooth is the walk. Intense with emotions and visual. If you find the time take a walk in to my little world of "Escape"
Thank you for sharing, I enjoyed it. God Bless.
