Blue Silk SkyA Poem by Rose F.A poem about an alcoholic.
Through amber glass eyes
I could see it was no surprise
At every bright sunrise
The darkness of the night dies
And as time flies
You realize
You can’t touch the blue silk sky
No matter how hard you try
And the blue is priced at more than you can buy
By a god whose only goal is to make you cry
It’s so far to the world outside
Your heart beats for a soul dammed to fry
Every word is a new form of lie
Every kiss is a sinful sigh
Through bloody rain you seem to lose your mind
And you lose your love to an eternal grind
And how many times do you have to ask to find?
Why is the clock turning back time?
Who is this heartless guy?
Who is this demon that has asked you out to dine?
And ever so faithfully he follows behind?
Who are you to for me to call you mine?
The world stands still as we wait for a sign
I question if anyone is one of a kind
Your hollow heart has been filled and you ask, “Why?”
It’s because the deceit has said goodbye
And as I watch through amber glass eyes
I could see this was no surprise
