What I'm thankful for

What I'm thankful for

A Poem by Ida C. Stavnes

For every moment that passes by,
And for every rock, ever turned.
For every sun rising at dawn,
And for every ray of light, still at burn.

For every early spring,
And for every silent night.
For every belated winter,
And for every star, shining bright.

For all the small things in life,
For the ones that make the big ones worthwhile.
For the blessing of good health,
For every step, for every mile.

For all that’s beautiful in this world,
For every smiling face.
For every happy child around the globe,
For every warm embrace.

For every hand ever stretched out,
For all the kindness spread around the air.
For mutual respect and understanding,
And for the ability to love – for it can never be too near.
