Eyes Are Mirrors, Not Windows

Eyes Are Mirrors, Not Windows

A Poem by Brett Campaigne

the prettiest thing in my eyes is you

     our vice-versa visages playing Pong

you want to take iris portals

understand yourself through me

but you will not pass my glass pupil

without sticking your fingers into my shallow eye sockets.

Nice and subtly graphic, yet erotic and pointed enough. Like the Wolf trying to save the little girl who is already lost in his void of charisma. Seductive warning, pretty wicked and submissive. Nice succinct twistedness. Pimpin!

Very complex and quite emotional though a bit defensive of your privacy.
Truly has the air of Joyce needing more communication and study of so
private a work. I enjoyed it's intensity, but my eye-sockets are in pain
after the last lines.

Wonderful piece, I loved the title it's what drew me in for a returned review favor. It's simple, yet a bit complex reading in between the lines. Awesome write.

Hi Brett, what a nice postmodern suprise! I like this rich absorbing metaphor construct, very empathetic and all too real about a relationship. thx for taking time and reading my poem. hope all is well.

I'm not sure what to think of this. I love its simplicity with the underlying complexity involved. Not sure if it is a positive, negative, or neutral message or maybe all combined. But it is a perspective of what is perception that I thoroughly enjoyed. You use your wording well. I especially like the last line in itself. Good work.
