A Poem by Emme

You never said goodbye,
Not that you had a choice,
You were taken from all of us,
So suddenly,
Like a bubble hitting a point,
You floated along, and then, poof!
You were gone.
You held a portion of my heart,
Which left with you.
They close the lid,
And all the memories,
The visits, the fresh cookies,
The lessons you taught me,
Stay behind like a ghost,
While you go.

I am an English major, currently reading and obsessing over Paradise Lost. I've been going through a weird zombie phase lately (is there such a thing as a normal zombie phase?) more..
