Fruit Bowl

Fruit Bowl

A Poem by Emme

"Draw what you see"
Such an odd phrase
If you draw what you see on your mind
Your future, your past
You don't get credit for it
They want you to be "literal"
But you are
You are drawing what you see
After not much thought you see,
What they mean
They want you to draw what they see
That bowl of rotting fruit that's
Supposed to be art.

OMG! This is so true! I hated still life in art! I understand the technical benefit, but it just felt like I was choking artistically!
