INT- DELLA’S ROOM �" DAY

 

GIRLE POP MUSIC PLAYS THROUGHOUT CREDITS(.) VIEW OF DELLA THROUGH HER OPEN WINDOW. SHES GETTING READY(.)

HER BEDROOM DOOR OPENS, MADDY ENTERS AND THROWS HER HANDBAG ONTO DELLA’S BED(.)

 

          MADDY

 (LOOKING DELLA UP AND DOWN)

    

     Is that what you’re wearing (?)

 

DELLA LOOKS AT HER SELF IN THE MIRROR(.)

 

          DELLA

     Yeah (1) why(?)

 

          MADDY

      (SCRUNCHED NOSE)

   

     It’s not very(…)sexy(?)

 

          DELLA

     I’m not trying to be sexy(.)

 

          MADDY

     And it shows(.)

 

MADDY STARTS RIFELING THROUGH DELLA’S CLOTHES (.)

 

          MADDY

        (SHOCKED)

 

     God del, is this absolutely everything(?)

 

          DELLA

     Yeah, well apart from tops and other stuff in the   

     drawers(.)

 

          MADDY

     What about Jamie(?) Has she got anything, ya’known  

     something fashionable(?)

 

          DELLA

     Probably, but she wouldn’t lend anything to me(.)She never

     does so don’t bother (.)

 

 

          MADDY

     she might if I ask her, besides if she knew what we

     needed it for she might actually do you a favour(.)

 

          DELLA

        (Confused)

     What do we need it for(?)

 

MADDY DOESN’T REPLY. SHE LEAVES THE ROOM QUICKLY(.)

 

          DELLA

          (v.o)

     I’ve never had a thing for fashion(.) My sister     

     Jamie is the most involved out of the two of us(.)

     We get on okay but the last time i borrowed 

     something of hers without asking she smacked me

     around the head with her bag(.)

 

          MADDY

     Ta-da(!)

 

SHE SHOCKS DELLA BY HER SUDDEN OUTBURST. SHE HOLDS A BLACK AND WHITE MINIDRESS, BLACK LEGGINGS, SILVER SHOES, AND THE SILVER HANDBAG (.)

 

          DELLA

     How did you �"

 

          MADDY

     It’s all about the charm, baby, besides you’d never

     pull Dan Bailey looking like that(.)

 

She lays the clothes on Della’s bed neatly(.)

 

          DELLA

       (WHISPERING)

     °Dan(.)°

 

DELLA BLUSHES (.)

 

          MADDY

     Yes, he’s coming, told me so in school (.) didn’t i tell

     you he’s coming tonight(?)

 

          DELLA

     You know you didn’t(.)But you definitely should’ve, you

     know how I am around him (.)

 

DELLA TAKES OF HER RED UNBUTTONED TOP(.)

 

          MADDY

     You should take better care of your clothes(.)Get them tidy

     and updated, if you did you wouldn’t have to borrow off

     your sister all the time.

 

DELLA GLANCES AT MADDY AND SMILES AS SHE REMOVES HER WHITE VEST TOP(.)

 

          MADDY

     Do you have a wonderbra(?)

 

          DELLA

     You know I don’t have anything like that(.)No need for one

     I have nothing there anyway �" pointless even trying or

     thinking about.

 

MADDY EXITS THE ROOM AGAIN (.)

 

          DELLA

          (V.O)

     Dan Bailey(.)I have honestly loved that boy since

     the first day I saw him(.) back in Mrs Robinson’s

     class in primary school(.) I cried when my mother

     didn’t say goodbye to me so Dan came over and gave  

     me a box of crayons(.) I was stunned, not because he

     came to cheer me up but because he was the cutest

     boy in class(.) plus the crayons we’re new and

     unopened(.)

 

MADDY ENTERS AGAIN AND THROWS THE BRA AT DELLA. DELLA TURNS HER BACK ON MADDY TO CHANGE(.)

 

          DELLA

      Ignore what I just said then(…)Fine I’ll give it ago but

      this isn’t the usual me. I don’t want to fake a  

      personality or even(…)THESE to impress Dan. I want to be

      myself.

 

          MADDY

     You’re not faking you’re enhancing besides I can still see

     your b***s in the mirror you know(.)

 

          DELLA

     You shouldn’t be looking(!)

 

          MADDY

        (laughing)

     I’m not I’m jut saying I could if I wanted to(.)

 

DELLA ROLLS HER EYES AND PULLS JAMIE’S DRESS OVER HER HEAD. (.)

 

          MADDY

     suits you(0.5) new it would(.)Try the shoes one too, makes

     it more trendy if you put it all together.

 

DELLA PULLS ON THE LEGGINS AND TRIES ON THE SHOES(.)

 

          DELLA

        (in pain)

     I can’t wear these all night(!)

 

          MADDY

     of course you can(.)A little effort is needed hun if your

     gonna pull your man tonight.
