Did You Get What You Want?A Poem by Stephanie KnightReminiscing of all those whom tortured me throughout my years in school.
You stood there laughing as you watched me squirm and scream.
You'd seen the tears escaping my eyes and yet continued your every day evils. You spit the words of pure chaos in my ears. Did you get what you want? The every day pains from the torment and the torture. I shattered underneath your thumb. And All I could do was try but trying wasn't even f*****g enough. Did you get what you want? You had seen what I saw in my own reflection. I wasn't worth walking the same world as you. Transforming in a state of depression and darkness before your very eyes. Did you get what you want? Through all these moments of hell, hatred was my only friend. Looking around not a soul would bother to help. Left alone to die, die from my very own self hatred. And you didn't even lay a hand on me... Did you get what you want? Did you get what you f*****g want? Working a full time serving job before the rest of you. Managing to save up enough to move out on my own. On my own for about a year, haven't seen a single soul of you. Did you get what you want? Those whom had promising careers now behind cold bars. Watching your life fly by while I'm making something of myself. Tears of my anguish turning into tears of happiness and laughter. Did you get what you want? Never realizing that the girl with hopeless eyes would be on top. Remembering the times that you kicked me down all through those years. Now you regret those intentions as I watch you squirm on your own. Is this what you wanted? You had hopes that you would tear me down enough. You made promises that I would be dead in a year from my own suicide. You failed to grasp the view of the future and look where you are at. Did you get what you want? © 2016 Stephanie Knight |

Though reading is not a necessity to "live", it does allow the minds of all to expand more than what we believe... more..Writing
