Misanthropic Thoughts IIA Poem by IceDragonOfPluto
Shunned from a world that only lives by lies,
We're left alone, unseen by their cruel eyes That stare into our souls, ruled by the darkness They created to ensure loneliness. Always different from our society, We linger in the vast eternity Of time, chaos and all that mortals fear And yet, these things, we have always kept dear To us. When others mocked our darkened minds, We learned to shove away and leave behind The emotions, the pain that tore apart Our souls, our minds and weary, broken hearts. We long to trust, we long to let this go, This neverending stain that taints our soul; But like a flower blooming in the spring, We know this stain returns and always brings With it the memories that caused this life To stab us with its proverbial knife; And as the crimson blood pours from our skin, Together, dark warrior, we'll look within And draw strength from the darkness, deep inside, That's been with us all the way to confide And learn the ways of this cruel world and all It stands for. May our darkness cause its fall. © 2011 IceDragonOfPlutoAuthor's Note
