Peaceful Composure

Peaceful Composure

A Poem by IceDragonOfPluto

When this cruel world leaves me alone to burn,
I look to the October sky and yearn
For the stars and the crescent moon to shine
Their light of hope to ease this weary mind.
The rays beam down to my saturnine eyes,
Revealing the truths long hidden by lies,
By foolish man who thought he sealed my fate,
Forever binding me to his own hate;
But on this Autumn night, I find release
From past demons that won't give my soul peace.
I find tranquility from the starlight
And the moonlight of this October night.
I yearn for the peace that hid long ago;
I yearn for peace to heal my bitter soul.

Hellacious torment is endured by many and I know I feel my fare share of it.

To tell the truth I know it well / the darklit path amid night's hell; / that wearying way from day to day / has long traffick'd in my mind's affray.

This well really well done, and I say it really captures the season of autumn as silent and peaceful.
