I'd Burn For You

I'd Burn For You

A Poem by IceDragonOfPluto

images.jpeg

If all the flames of hell must singe my skin
And demons mock my soul, taking my pride;
I'll gladly face these torments 'till the end
If it means keeping you close by my side.
If all the world must rip my beating heart
out of my chest and feed it to the beasts:
To prove my love, I'll let them tear apart
My very flesh and be their gory feasts.
Think me not mad--you see, I am quiet sane.
If I were mad, I'd let you slip away.
Inside my heart, no more can it contain
This love I have held much too long at bay.
If I must prove that I love you, my dear;
I'd burn for you and face my greatest fear.

Love should require no such proof but when it does you seem to be willing to cast yourself to the depths of hell and face satan to prove your love.

Sorry I refuse to use an upper case s in satan. Low class as I see him.

Great write man. I like the rhyme scheme and the pacing works very well.
