The Dark Lady

The Dark Lady

A Poem by IceDragonOfPluto

In light of moon, I gaze into your eyes,
Those precious gems darker than sable night
Reflecting stars that clad amongst the skies
When holding you, my one only delight.
How apt I long the tresses of your hair,
Those raven locks with contrast brightly shine,
To glide upon my skin with tender care
As your lips lock in perfect sync with mine.
I dare say locked I wish my lips to stay
And forever take joy in this sweet kiss.
Alas, I fear that night must turn to day
And once again, I'm left without your bliss.
I wait for night's embrace. My fever burns
'Till once again, in my arms you return.

Desire for what one cannot have is not quite as great as the desire for what one has tasted only once. Am I correct in asumeing that this person was yours at one point. I believe so. To long for her now is a wound of deepest despair.

Very good write...!

Your writing seems to all have amazing flow Pluto a in glad you choose to do rhyming format poems because they just display that skill even more.
I love the metaphor here, how you wrote about night as if it were a woman. Some of long for nightfall. For some of, only under the shadow of darkness to we feel accepting
