How Soon the Hours Escaped This Glorious Day

How Soon the Hours Escaped This Glorious Day

A Poem by IceDragonOfPluto

How soon the hours escaped this glorious day

we shared alone in our brief ecstasy;

and now the hours have passed, taking away

my darling love, my one, true fantasy.

Though day must end, I'll dream of you tonight

and in my dreams, I'll kiss those rosed lips

that stir my heart with passionate delight

as I place my hands on your lusty hips;

And when the morning comes, I know too well

that left behind, I've nothing there to hold.

That, in itself, is a fate worse than hell:

To dream of you, yet wake alone and cold.

How quick the hours pass when you're next to me,
Yet slow when you're gone and I am lonely.

A passionate and yearning poem. One that thinks, and realizes. A before and after. An excellent write. Keep it up.

Such longing, and passion.. I especially love the line "How quick the hours pass when you're next to me,
Yet slow when you're gone and I am lonely."

Excellent..xx
