If I Could Take Your Memory Away

If I Could Take Your Memory Away

A Poem by IceDragonOfPluto

If I could take your memory away,
Cast it aside, and think of it no more,
I fear my heart may wish it could have stayed

To relish in what it once most adored.

I curse my heart that keeps your memory
Locked deep inside so I cannot forget
Those eyes, that smile, that still must torture me
And fill my soul with thoughts of deep regret.
Your memory, a pleasure and a pain,

Forever scars the essence of my soul.

Though I curse my heart for whispering your name,

It is my soul that cannot let you go.

Try as I may to cast these thoughts aside,

Inside of me, you will always reside.
