If I am but a Fool You Keep Constrained

If I am but a Fool You Keep Constrained

A Poem by IceDragonOfPluto

If I am but a fool you keep constrained
To dance and laugh whenever you command,
Then let me go and rid me of the pain
This jester feels without Queen True-Love's hand.
Amongst the peasant's towns, I'd rather live
Than be a laughing stock in courtly life
Who asks for love, though you will never give
Me anything but agony and strife.
I've danced for years, and now my feet are tired;
I find solace when I escape your sight.
Living alone is now my one desire
Escaping that which haunts my sleepless nights:
Your face, your laugh, the look within your eyes
Took joy in my pain; took joy in my cries.

Its sad, but I love what you did with this piece its amazing, that emotion is a painful one, but sometimes there comes a time to dance to the music you hear so others cannot play upon you.

I really, really liked reading this. I loved the flow and the words you created on here. It feels as if a calm and giving revenge.
"Your face, your laugh, the look within your eyes
Took joy in my pain; took joy in my cries."
Great job!
