Let Me Lavish In Your Imperfection

Let Me Lavish In Your Imperfection

A Poem by IceDragonOfPluto
"

"Show me your split ends, show me your scars, too. Let me lavish in your imperfection."

"

The way those strands of hair fall to your face
Reminds me just how imperfect you are,
And in that moment, I wish to embrace
You like the skies of night do to the stars.
How like the stars that twinkle far away,
Hiding the truth beneath a veil of light,
Are you, my sweet, with your mask in the day
That you take off when daytime becomes night.
Forget  your mask, let me see the real you,
Let your hair fall in every direction.
Show me your split ends, show me your scars, too;
Let me lavish in your imperfection.

Let me love you, not an identity.

Let me love you, the one non other sees.

Oh my goodness, I loved the line "Show me your split ends, show me your scars, too." It was the best part of the poem to me. Favorited.

Favorited! Your author note really shot home. You can't please everyone, no use in wasting away to nothing trying, better to just be yourself.
