Ode to You, Dear WolfA Poem by IceDragonOfPlutoAn ode to those of Wolfen character.
Oh lonely wolf who howls and pleas Under the stars, amongst the trees, Indulge my ears, sing me a tune, Under the light of a full moon.
Your songs of longing and sorrow Whisper to me as if you know We are the same, yes you and I, Two lonely wolves that howl and cry.
Wolves hate the day, but love the night, And in the night they take delight To sing their songs of wanting pleas Under the stars amongst the trees.
Much like the wolf, I hate the day, The bright of light stands in my way. Much like the wolf, I am despised, So in the night, I hide, disguised.
Neck arched, staring into the moon, You dance and sing in sordid boon, Yet know too well that moonlit night Falls to the heat of bright daylight.
Like day to night and night to day, Contradiction stands in our way. You, lonely wolf, understand this, That we are doomed to loneliness.
Oh lonely wolf who howls and pleas Under the stars, amongst the trees, Indulge my ears, sing me a tune, Under the light of a full moon.
