AssumingA Poem by ICESleeping air Threatens my lungs To burst In technicolor Awaiting the unkempt Silence of faded And ruthlessly jadded Memories That I thought I'd buried long ago. Its the three sylables You refuse to utter The one word I long For you to mutter. It's the way I'm Always wrong, Full of assumptions, But never right. Failing on the inside But outside I'm A peachy keen Sweetness Putting on my face Trying not to show I'm a rightious mess. (As) If I belonged These tears would Have no reason To cascade down My face. As water is To a waterfall A big yacht In the Hamptons Trying to break the ice Smiling like I meant... But.. That was a long shot And I've already lost The battle On encyclopedia Printer wars And dramatic drama (For my viewing pleasure) Once upon a time I was sure you saw me. Expression the price to pay For overabundance of criticism And a blatant lack of support. I was sure you saw me.
