I Couldn't!

I Couldn't!

A Poem by Bidu Ibrahim

I couldn't take the risk,
If I wanted
I would have played along,
To the game I ain't new.
I couldn't accept
though I could neither outright
Something so special reject.
Every part of my being
Wants to really give in
Reciprocate this special feeling,
But life isn't a film
Where everything just fits in
It's too complicated a script
If there ever was one indeed!

Numerous hearts I've broken
And with quite a number
I have played.
But with you
I wouldn't want to repeat the same
I would want to see it to the end!
But with life as it is
Is there really a chance
For this to materialize?
Do you now see why am so hesitant?

very nice and honest poem about life experiences, feelings and sadness of the past...we have to be careful by choosing our ways in life, because there is no way back! so if we hurt ,we will be hurt more, if we make ourselves clear, destiny and God will give us our happiness...

i think although we do our best to live our present and to plan for our future, still the past with all its experiences either good or bad, decide which way to go. most of the time we make decisions which later on we wonder how we have done that! we feel we werent ourselves when we have done this or that..anyways....i dont think we can ever get rid of past experiences so we have to pick the good and get most benifit of it. thank you for sharing

Sometimes hesitation is best. Give your self time to consider ramifications before taking a risk.

a very honest piece. seems he really wants to take a chance but there are many things holding him back. it's difficult to put the past behind us especially if we're going to compare ourselves to who we are today. maybe he's changed now. he is aware that he's hurt others before so maybe he learned a lesson. he should have confidence in himself. great poem. leaves you with suspense.
