If Only these Walls could Speak!A Poem by Bidu IbrahimIf only these walls could speak They would have a lot to tell They would tell of sadness So heavy, immense And darker than a hundred stormy moonless nights, They would tell of loneliness The emptiness, the vacuum Threatening to force them to cave in They would tell of desires So strong and intense On the brink of exploding Incomparable to a hundred Hiroshimas!
If only these walls could speak They would tell of frustrations, The sighs, The clicks, The groans, The depression And the shame of seeing A grown man crying himself to sleep!
If only these walls could speak They would tell of shouts And screams that shatter their peace, They would complain of being hit Kicked and things smashed against them!
If only these walls could speak The would tell of the pride, The resolve, The hope, And the blind faith that all problems will dissolve!
If only these walls could speak, Then the magic they hold would dissolve. In their silence they keep secrets, In their indifference they offer no unsolicited advice, In their patience they turn the other cheek, And in their consistency they provide much needed stability; These Walls Offer all that nosey bipeds will never give! © 2012 Bidu IbrahimAuthor's Note
