My Son!A Poem by Bidu IbrahimA letter to my son
My son
My world, Life’s short We can’t tell who’s first to go, There’s so much you need to know So much you wanna know There has never been time to talk, There will be so much to hear Always someone ready to volunteer, Some stories shall be painful to hear A few snippets will fill you with pride Depends with whom you ride Confusions Contradictions And imperfections, I couldn’t give you heaven on earth How could I, You are my heaven and earth! Your dad ain’t an angel But he was incredible, My son My world, Don’t live your life a copy That’s an expensive hobby, Breathe Feel Dream, Let the fear of God be your regulator And the love for humanity your motivator, Meet the world with a smile Let humility be your ride, Inspire love and hope Boldly weather any storm, Live simply, Real Poverty isn’t in material scarcity Real Poverty’s in a lack of morals and humanity! Even though I don’t express this much You’re the very beat that sustains my heart, I don’t love you I live you. © 2016 Bidu IbrahimAuthor's Note
