My final desire

My final desire

A Poem by Ian Erasmus
"

A poem I wrote in memory of a friend of mine that passed away a few months ago.

"

When this life hath flown from me
And Death’s sweet kiss I taste.
I will but one desire have
And this it will be:

Do not morn me over much
For I’ve found peace,
Serenity,
A place where I belong.
And here I’ll wait till one day,
Reunited, delighted we will be.

And if you must then morn me still,
Do so with a smile.
Live each moment to the max,
Celebrate each day.

For soon your turn it will be,
To kiss goodbye your friends
And family.
