Chapter 1: Kidnapped

Amber has managed to avoid kidnapping for a long time but finally Lord Drat's minions catch up with her. After a tough battle Amber is taken and reunites with an old... friend.

Amber somberly walked down the desolate street. She heard the slight flickering of a broken sign in the background, which caused her to scoff. The sign most likely said, “A paradise!” which Amber found funny.

            “Hm… paradise… I’ll believe that when hell freezes over,” said Amber with a tinge of sarcasm in her voice. Suddenly four shadows slowly appeared in the mist. Amber recognized the shadows. They belong to Lord Drat’s hunters, Jinx, Zephyr, Winter and Tempest. The four mutants were hired by Drat to find other mutants and kidnap them and force them to fight for his amusement.

            “Hello there” said the shadow belonging to Winter. Amber looked up slightly but not much. The 5 of them have had many altercations but Amber has always managed to escape.

            “Winter can we cut to the chase and fight already? I am borrreeddddd!” whined Zephyr! Amber scoffed at the childlike harpy, which cause him to pout angrily at her.

            “I see you’re the same as always Zephyr. However, I am not. I just want to fight you and get this over with so I can move on,” said Amber sounding bored.

            “You heard her now let’s fight!” shouted Zephyr flying towards Amber! As Zephyr got closer Amber opened her mouth and right, as he was about to hit her, she released a sonic scream, sending Zephyr flying back!

            “I swear Zephyr you fall for the same tricks every time. Now it’s my turn,” said Jinx monotonously. She charged toward Amber, who prepared for her usual attack. However, Jinx was a little more careful then Zephyr was and always made sure her movements were hard to predict. While Jinx was a normal long-range attacker, she got up close to Amber and swung the side of her hand at her! Amber easily avoided the slow attack but suddenly her foot sunk into the ground! Jinx had used the slow attack to charm the ground by Amber’s foot. Jinx began repeatedly punching Amber and no matter how fast Amber tried to block it was pointless. Jinx was too fast and Amber was growing weary. Finally Amber had wiggled her foot out and managed to swiftly kick Jinx in the side! The kick sent Jinx flying into a nearby abandoned car! ZAP! Amber was flung back by a shot of lightning!

            “HAHAHA this is fun! ZAP!” shouted Tempest jumping around! She continued to frantically shoot lightning at Amber! It was difficult for her to avoid but slowly she got closer.

            “STAY STILL! ZAP!” shouted Tempest pouting! Finally Amber was right in front of her and she was about to scream when she suddenly felt a cold hand over her mouth.

            “Do it” said Winter solemnly. After preparing a ball of lightning in her hand, Tempest shoved it into Amber’s stomach!

            “AHHH!” shouted Amber in pain! Eventually Tempest stopped and Amber fell to her knees. Suddenly another shadow appeared in the mist. However, Amber didn’t know whom this shadow belonged to and while all of her body wanted to collapse, she knew she should use all her might stay awake. As the shadow got closer, Amber started to recognize it but she didn’t want it to be true.

            “That was pathetic. It took all four of you to take out one target. Well you know they say, you can bring the untalented to water but that doesn’t make them any less stupid” said the boy. Now the boy looked towards Amber and smiled wryly. “Aw what’s wrong songbird? Cat got your tongue? Please sing us something,” said the boy maliciously. Amber tried to scream but it only fell flat and lifeless. “Idiot. If it was up to me, for all the trouble you caused Lord Drat, I would kill you right now” said the boy, roughly grabbing Amber’s face! “Wait a minute. Do you remember me? Well, not me albeit but the human I am controlling. What was his name again? Sakurai? No, Sora was it?” asked the boy? Amber felt tears form in hers causing the boy to laugh. “So you do remember. Well, how can you not he was your lover after all. Sadly, Sora is no more. My new name is Tenebris. Sora is dead,” said Tenebris evilly. He laughed manically at the tears now strolling down Amber’s face.

            “Let’s go. Lord Drat said he had special plans for her” said Winter, not wanting to witness what might happen next.

            “And he can perform those plans later. For now, she is mine,” said Tenebris smiling slyly.

            “You’re disgusting. Unless Lord Drat’s plans involve her being your sex slave you better not touch her” said Winter sternly. Swiftly Tenebris moved from Amber to Winter and placed his hand under Winter’s chin! Amber watched in fear as the life slowly drained from Winter’s face.

            “And if I do who’s going to stop me? You?” asked Tenebris tauntingly? Winter quickly placed her hand on Tenebris’ forearm and started to freeze it! All of the life returned to Winter’s face and Tenebris pulled his arm away! The two of them were about to fight when Zephyr flew in the middle of them!

            “Come on guys don’t fight! We finally beat Amber! Now we can prove to Lord Drat that we aren’t failures!” exclaimed Zephyr excitedly! The two mutants stood down and Tenebris scoffed at the child incubus.

            “One victory amongst all your failures doesn’t change anything. In my eyes you are all still failures,” said Tenebris walking away. Finally, Amber let sleep take over her body. She knew that there was nothing she could do, especially in the condition she was in. When she awoke, she was going asses the situation and figure out how to fix it.
